Our Team
Fola Aiyesimoju
Fola is the founder of Themis Capital. His experience prior to co-founding Themis spans principal investing, corporate finance and private equity. Fola has lived and worked in Sub-Saharan Africa’s most important economies. Fola most recently worked with the global investment firm, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, where his focus was on private equity opportunities in Africa. His experience also includes time at Ocean and Oil Holdings, a principal investment firm based in Nigeria and eight years at Standard Bank, five of which were spent leading the mergers and acquisitions advisory business in Nigeria.
Peter Mombaur
Peter has been working in Africa for more than 15 years. He moved to Africa as an Engagement Manager with McKinsey, then spent 7 years in Nigeria working across several industries before joining Tana Africa Capital as Co-Managing Director. Peter recently moved to San Diego to run Terra Education, an educational travel company that he co-founded. Peter’s entrepreneurial experience includes co-founding the African Leadership Academy in Johannesburg. Peter supports Themis Capital with his invaluable hands-on experience in Nigeria and Africa both as a manager and investor.
Debola Badejo
Debola is a Principal at Themis, responsible for identifying, reviewing and investing in target companies. He works closely with portfolio companies to implement value creation initiatives aimed at driving superior returns. Prior to joining Themis, Debola spent 6 years with Standard Bank as a Corporate Finance executive, where he executed various M&A, restructuring and capital raising transactions for leading corporates across sub-Saharan Africa. Debola began his career at Morgan Stanley in New York and also worked at Citadel Securities, prior to moving back to Africa to focus on providing advisory services on the continent.
